AddonSmith is an app for creating Minecraft Bedrock add-ons. This policy explains what information the app handles and what it never touches. The short version: an account is optional, your creations stay on your device unless you choose to share them, and the free version shows ads from Google AdMob.
Everything you create — projects, blocks, items, mobs, textures, settings, and your "remove ads" purchase status — is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere unless you explicitly use the Showcase (below). Deleting the app deletes this data.
You can use AddonSmith without an account. If you choose to create an account or sign in (with an email and password, or with Google), we store, through our authentication provider (Supabase):
Your password is never seen or stored by us — it is hashed by Supabase. An account is used only to identify you in the greeting and to attribute add-ons you share to the Showcase. Your creations stay on your device; an account does not upload them.
Deleting your account: email us at the address above and we will delete your account and its data.
If you choose to upload an add-on to the Showcase, the following is stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase) and shown publicly to all users of the app:
When you use the Showcase (uploading, downloading, or reporting), your IP address is processed briefly on the server to prevent abuse (rate limiting and spam protection). It is used only for counting recent requests and is not used to identify or profile you.
Browsing and creating add-ons requires no Showcase interaction at all — the app works fully offline.
Removing an upload: email us at the address above with the add-on's title and we will delete it.
AddonSmith is free and shows ads (a banner, and occasionally a full-screen ad after you export an add-on) through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To show, measure and protect ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the app may automatically collect:
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us; we never see your advertising ID. Google's use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Ad content: ads are limited to content rated suitable for teens and older.
EU, EEA and UK users: before any ad is shown, the app asks for your consent using Google's consent form. You can accept or decline personalized ads; if you decline, you may still see non-personalized or limited ads. You can change your choice at any time by tapping "Ad privacy choices" at the bottom of the app's home screen.
Everyone: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
If a one-time "Remove ads" purchase is offered in the app and you buy it, ads stop being shown on your device.
Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your payment card details. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy.
You can ask us to delete your AddonSmith account and the data linked to it at any time. No app update or sign-in is needed.
What we delete: your account (email address, display name, and Google sign-in profile) and your Showcase uploads (add-on file, thumbnail, title, description and creator name), plus the random device identifier attached to them. You can also ask us to delete only specific uploads and keep your account.
On your device: your projects and settings are stored only on your phone. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes them.
Advertising data: data collected by Google AdMob is held by Google, not us. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads). EU/UK users can also change their ad choice with "Ad privacy choices" in the app.
AddonSmith does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The creator name on Showcase uploads is free-text chosen by the user — we encourage everyone, especially younger players, to use a made-up nickname. If you believe a child has posted personal information to the Showcase, contact us and we will remove it.
All network traffic (accounts, Showcase and ads) uses HTTPS. Showcase write operations are protected server-side, and account passwords are hashed by our authentication provider. We never see or store them.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
